Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This page explains what GAMENYX itself stores in your browser today, and how the cookie-consent banner works.

What we currently use

Unless you accept cookies through the banner below, GAMENYX does not set any analytics or ad-measurement cookies. No ad-network or remarketing cookie is set regardless of your choice — see “Advertising” below. The only thing our own site code stores in your browser by default is a single local-storage entry:

Name Purpose Type Duration
gamenyx_consent Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics and ad-measurement cookies, so the banner doesn’t ask again Local storage (not a cookie, but a similar on-device technology) Until you clear your browser data

This entry never leaves your device, is not linked to your identity, and is not shared with anyone.

Strictly necessary

The consent-preference entry above is the only storage item on the site, and it exists solely to make the consent banner itself function correctly — it does not track you across sites or build a profile.

GAMENYX uses Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags, and Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. Both operate under Google’s Advanced Consent Mode, which starts every visit with analytics storage set to denied, before you’ve made a choice in the banner.

While analytics storage is denied, Google’s tags may still send limited, cookieless measurement and consent-state signals to Google. This is expected behavior of Google’s Consent Mode, not something we forgot to switch off: these signals do not depend on any analytics cookie being read from or written to your device.

If you click Accept, analytics storage is set to granted, and Google Analytics may then read and write its own first-party analytics cookies (typically prefixed _ga) to measure your visit more fully. If you click Decline — or don’t choose at all — analytics storage stays denied, and only the cookieless signals described above continue; no analytics cookie is set.

If you click Accept, ad-measurement consent (ad_storage, ad_user_data) is also set to granted, so Google Ads can measure whether a visit that came from one of our own Google ads led to a click on a game offer (a conversion). Google Ads may then read and write its own conversion cookies (typically prefixed _gcl). Ad personalization (ad_personalization, used for remarketing and personalized ads) stays denied whatever you choose: GAMENYX does not use it. If you click Decline, or don’t choose, all advertising consent stays denied.

Advertising

Google Ads conversion measurement. GAMENYX runs ads on Google to bring visitors to its guides. With your consent (Accept), Google Ads may set first-party cookies (typically prefixed _gcl) to measure whether those visits lead to a click on a game offer. Without consent, these cookies are not set.

Ad spaces and ad networks. No display-ad network script runs on GAMENYX, and no ad-network or remarketing cookie is set. Any ad space on the site is a reserved placeholder only. If that changes, this section will be updated first.

Third-party and infrastructure-level cookies

We directly tested this site’s cookie behavior — checking the actual browser cookie store and server response headers, not just our own code — across the homepage, an article, and a category page, with analytics consent denied (the default, and the result of clicking Decline) and with no choice made yet. Under those conditions, no cookie, first-party or third-party, is currently set, including by Cloudflare, our hosting/CDN provider. See “Analytics: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Consent Mode” above for what happens if you click Accept.

This describes tested, current behavior rather than a permanent guarantee: Cloudflare, like any hosting/CDN provider, retains the technical ability to set operational or security cookies under certain configurations (for example, bot-challenge or attack-mitigation features), and none were active or observed during our testing. If that changes, we will update this page.

Managing your choice

You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site, which will bring the consent banner back on your next visit. There is currently no separate in-page “manage preferences” control beyond the initial Accept/Decline banner.

Changes to this policy

If analytics cookies begin being set beyond what’s described above, or if we add advertising or other cookie-setting technology, we will update this page — including a real list of the specific cookies involved — before that change goes live.
