Neverness to Everness (NTE) is a large, modern-looking open world, and its PC requirements are higher than many free-to-play games. Before you start a 110 GB download, here’s what the official specs ask for and how to read them.

Official PC requirements

From the game’s Steam page (Windows):

Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10 64-bit Windows 10 64-bit or newer
Processor Intel Core i7-10700 or Snapdragon X Intel Core i7-12700 or Snapdragon X2 Elite

How to read these numbers

Memory is the line to watch. 16 GB is the minimum and 32 GB is recommended, more than many games ask for. With 16 GB, close browsers and other heavy apps while you play.

The graphics card bar is moderate. A GTX 1660 or RX 5600 is a mid-range card from several years ago, so many gaming PCs clear the minimum. For the recommended experience, an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 class card is the target.

The processor is the surprise. The minimum names an 8-core Intel Core i7-10700, a higher bar than the graphics card. Older quad-core CPUs may struggle in busy city areas even with a decent GPU.

Plan for the 110 GB. Free up the space before you download, and if you can, install on an SSD: large open worlds load and stream far better from an SSD than from a hard drive.

Arm laptops are listed. Both tiers include Snapdragon processors with Adreno graphics, so Windows on Arm laptops are officially covered.

It’s always online. A broadband connection is required.

If your PC is close to the minimum

  • Lower resolution or render scale first, then shadows and reflections. Our NTE PC settings guide walks through what to change and in what order.
  • Cap your frame rate at a number you can hold, rather than letting it swing.
  • Test in the city, not in a quiet area: crowded streets and driving are the heaviest parts.

Steam Deck and handhelds

NTE isn’t listed with a Steam Deck rating on its store page, and Steam Deck HQ reported trouble running it on the Deck at launch. Treat handhelds as unconfirmed for now.

Is it worth the download?

NTE is free, so the only real cost is the disk space and the download time. If your PC meets the minimum, it’s worth trying; see what NTE actually is first if you’re not sure it’s your kind of game.
