Disclosure: GAMENYX’s operator separately promotes Arena Breakout: Infinite through a paid pay-per-install (CPA) program outside this website. This page contains no affiliate links, and that relationship did not decide the comparison below. See our Affiliate Disclosure. This comparison is research-based: it describes how the two games are built, not a scored hands-on review.

If you want a free extraction shooter on PC, these two names come up first. They share the core loop: deploy with gear, loot, fight, and get out alive or lose what you carried. But they’re built for different players, and picking the wrong one is how a free game ends up costing you a frustrating first week.

The short answer

  • Pick Delta Force if you want variety, if you play on console or mobile, or if you want a low-stakes mode to learn in before you start risking gear.
  • Pick Arena Breakout: Infinite if you specifically want a slower, realism-focused extraction game on PC and you don’t need anything else in the same package.

The rest of this page explains why.

What each game actually is

Delta Force is a free-to-play military shooter from Team Jade, available on PC since December 2024 and on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android since 2025, with cross-platform play. It is really two games in one: Warfare, a large-scale mode with up to 32 players per side with unlimited respawns and vehicles, and Operations, its extraction mode, where failing to extract means losing everything you carried outside your Safe Box. Our Warfare vs. Operations guide covers that split in detail.

Arena Breakout: Infinite is a free-to-play extraction shooter from MoreFun Studios, a Tencent-owned studio. It began as a PC spin-off of the mobile game Arena Breakout and left its beta with a full release on Steam and the Epic Games Store in mid-September 2025. It is PC-only and extraction-only: there is no separate respawn mode to fall back on.

Platform: the first filter

This decides it for a lot of people before anything else does.

Delta Force Arena Breakout: Infinite
PC Yes Yes (Steam, Epic Games Store)
PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series X|S Yes No
Mobile Yes No (the separate mobile game is Arena Breakout)
Cross-platform play Yes PC only
Price Free-to-play Free-to-play

If your friends are on console, or you want to play the same game on your phone, Delta Force is the only one of the two that works for you.

Learning curve and risk

Extraction games punish beginners hard, because every death costs the gear you brought.

Delta Force softens that with Warfare. You can learn maps, weapons and recoil there with no permanent loss, then move into Operations once the basics feel natural. Our Operations survival guide picks up from that point.

Arena Breakout: Infinite has no equivalent safety net: every match is an extraction raid. That’s exactly what some players want. The tension of every raid is the point. But expect a steeper first few hours, more lost gear, and more time learning maps before you feel in control.

Pace and realism

Arena Breakout: Infinite leans toward a slower, more deliberate, realism-focused style of extraction play, in the tradition of the hardcore end of the genre. Fights tend to reward caution, positioning and gear management over raw aim speed.

Delta Force’s Operations mode is still an extraction game with real consequences. But the overall package is more arcade-friendly, with Operator abilities and a large-scale mode sitting right next to it.

Neither is “better”. If you’ve enjoyed slow, high-tension tactical shooters, Arena Breakout: Infinite is closer to that. If you’d rather have fast, varied sessions and dip into extraction when you feel like it, Delta Force fits better.

The money side

Both games are free to download and play. In both, you should check what the in-game shop actually sells before you spend anything. At its full release, MoreFun Studios said Arena Breakout: Infinite’s Koen currency could no longer be bought with real money, a change it presented as a move away from pay-to-win concerns. Shops and policies change with seasons, so check the current in-game store rather than relying on launch-day news.

Hardware

Both are demanding modern shooters on PC. If you’re unsure your system can hold a stable frame rate, start with our Delta Force PC settings guide, and our guide to smooth PC gaming without chasing Ultra settings. The same principles apply to Arena Breakout: Infinite. In an extraction shooter, a stable frame rate matters more than maximum visual detail.

Decision checklist

  1. Not on PC, or playing with console friends? Delta Force.
  2. Want a low-stakes mode to learn in first? Delta Force (start in Warfare).
  3. Only want extraction, and enjoy slow, high-tension raids? Arena Breakout: Infinite.
  4. Not sure yet? Both are free. Install the one that matches your platform first, give it a few sessions, and decide on how the raids feel to you, not on what’s popular this season.
